Gourmet Dinner @ Chef’s House (George Brown) Exclusively for Members.

The Chefs’ House is an urban culinary retreat; a contemporary space that is used to celebrate the bounty of locally grown food products. It pays homage to the international cuisine that influences Toronto’s culinary scene. The restaurant has students training to cook, bake and serve. It serves up one-of-a-kind dining experiences to food lovers while providing George Brown Chef School students with the latest in real-world culinary training.

As is our custom, the menu selections will be matched with wines from the SAWS cellar selected by cellar master Jon Whitteker.

Fine Wine and Fine Cars @ TBD

Traditionally, red wines were cellared for many years before being opened. This was to allow the tannins to soften and the structural components of the wine to become harmonious with the fruit. For many wines today, we don't have to cellar them for years before drinking, as they are produced in a way that makes them more accessible earlier. Wines, particularly red, often benefit from a little aeration to allow the fruit to shine through and the flavors to mellow out. This can be done the traditional way of letting it sit and open up in the glass before drinking, or by decanting.

Spring Fling Dinner @ TBD

As the weather warms, our thoughts are on our blooming gardens and the fine spring days ahead. Consider joining us for dinner with spring in mind, along with fine wines to match.
April in Bloom is our theme. For your enjoyment, Cellar Master Jon Whitteker has selected a variety of wines to complement the menu. You can decide whether they will become your summer sippers or dinner heavy weights.

Sommelier/Chef on Food Wine Matching @ TBD

Chenin Blanc
One of the world’s most versatile grapes is chenin blanc. Chenin blanc is used to produce everything from bone dry, high acid wines to deliciously sweet dessert wines. It can be found in sparkling “champagne style” wines, such as Crémant de Loire, and even fortified wines.

Sauvignon Blanc
One of the best known "international" varietals, originally cultivated in France, sauvignon's wonderfully distinctive aromatics generate some of wine's most colorful descriptors.
